Our beautiful B&B on Santa Maria Island, Azores

Visit us on the intimate Island of Santa Maria, Azores, a paradise unspoiled by tourism. Experience the spirit of Santa Maria, and enjoy the abundance of nature on offer.
Here we are blessed with year round sunshine, which is only occasionally interupted with rainfall. Often there is a deep and silent calm before a raging storm. Our calm, crystal clear waters are infused with deep blue and turquoise colours, and on occasion disturbed by wild, roaring waves.
You can attempt a hike across fields engulfed in ancient stonewalls, or climb steep trails on the vineyard covered slopes of Maia and São Lourenço. Take a moment to catch your breath and admire the fantastic views from Pico Alto, where you can gaze out over the vast Atlantic Ocean, and surrounding villages of Almagreira, Santa Barbara, São Pedro and Vila do Porto.
Enjoy a coffee in one of the many small, traditional, taverns. There are a thousand reasons to visit us...

Our place is located quite centrally on the plateau of "Tremoçal", close to the village of Almagreira. Within a 35 min walk you will find the famous beach "Praia Formosa", and the closest store and coffee bar are 600 m away. Meanwhile, in April 2014 opened up a small Café/Bar in the old mill of Almagreira where you can get cheap but tasty typcal food. Explore the beautiful Island of Santa Maria by foot, bike/E-bike, or rental car - you will enjoy it!

We are looking forward to your visit.

Warmest regards, Franziska & Christian
